Jeep Wrangler safety
In various tests made by different institutions and government offices the safety
tests done on the Jeep Wrangler gave it an acceptable rating. It had an ceeptable
rating in the structure and safety cage. There was moderate intrusion into the
driver footwell area and no rearward movement of the instrument panel. Restraints
and dummy cage was also adjudged as acceptable too. After the dummy moved forward
into the airbag, it leaned toward the driver door. Its head and left shoulder
moved outside the door because the doors on the soft-top model tested aren't
high enough for optimal restraint.
The injury measures was also within the acceptable range. Measures taken from
the head, neck, and chest during the offset test indicate low risk of injury to
these body regions. However, forces on the left femur indicate the possibility
of upper leg injury. Safety measures and features include, Driver and passenger
airbags, safety roll bars and side guard door beams, and an ABS system on its
wheels.
